Social protection and multidimensional poverty: Lessons from Ethiopia, India and Peru

We investigate the impact of three large-scale social-protection schemes in Ethiopia, India, and Peru on multidimensional poverty. Using data from Young Lives cohort study, we show trend, changes evolution poverty for individuals program participant households. follow a number strategies to produce estimates that deal with non-random placement. Our findings both incidence intensity declined all countries over period 2006–2016, more so participants than non-participants. find positive short-term asset formation, livestock holding, some living standard indicators. In these impacts are sustained even medium longer-term.
